TAIWAN BACKPACKING

From meeting great new friends in Kaohsiung and Alishan, I headed over to Taichong as a stop before my final destination, Taipei. In Taichong I met with a couchsurfer who took me to the famous night market in Taichong, Fengchia night market. She and I had a great time and we talked a lot about cultural differences. I really have to thank couchsurfing because I eventually met more nice local people in Taipei. I went to Jiufen with the other couchsurfers and even released my first wishing lantern.

Besides from couchsurfing, I also have some friends in Taipei whom I met while studying abroad. It was great to have a reunion with them. It is when you are traveling, you realize how great it is to have met so many people from all over the world.

Notable places that I visited in Taipei are the big night markets, Lungshen Temple, Mengjia film set, Jiufen, Treasure Hill Artist Village *really thank my friend for bring me there or else I wouldn’t know about it* and Xinbeitou hot spring. There were honestly more places to visit than I thought. I really enjoyed my trip in Taiwan and I think that it will never be the same even if I visited again. It was the first trip I took after graduation and it was one of the best trips ever.
