The recent few years, honey toast box became very popular in many places but actually it was originated from Taiwan. I did some research and made sure I went to the best one. I narrowed down to two, Dazzling Cafe and Perfume Dance. I asked my flight attendant friend which one she prefers since she flies to Taiwan all the time. She said Dazzling Cafe is much better and there’s no need to try Perfume Dance. After trying both just because I wanted see what the craze was about, I second her opinion. There was a wait on a weekday for Dazzling Cafe Pink. When I went there, the host told me it was going to be around 45 minutes wait. I said ok and looked at the menu as I wait. Then after 2 minutes, he came back and said if I didn’t mind sitting at the communal table I can get seated right away. Of course I would rather sit then wait another hour. On the side note, most of the server in the cafe were cutesy boys. Anyways, I sat and finally decided to order the Hazelnut Chocolate Honey Toast. It’s different than their regular box toast where it is cut into three layers and piled up. To be honest, this is quite expensive in Taiwanese standards. It took longer than I expected and it finally came. The first impression was, IT LOOKS AMAZING and huge and I couldn’t wait to devour it. I loved the marble design on the ice cream/cream, except it was just TOO MUCH so I had to push it aside. Since the toast was still warm, the vanilla ice cream on top melted pretty quickly and I was afraid it was going to make my toast soggy, luckily that didn’t happen. The bread was toasted golden brown with butter and sugar, and the middle was hollow. Not only the outer layer of the toast was buttery, but the overall was crunchy and fresh. I can feel the flakiness of each layer as I bite into it. This is definitely one of the best toast I’ve eaten. I over estimated myself and one person alone really couldn’t finish this. But I would definitely go back whenever I can to try another item on their menu, such as their signature box toast, where there are dices of toasted bread are piled inside the toast box.
