I am a big fan of steak, so when dineLA was here, I came to one of the must-try steakhouses in LA according to a few websites. But honestly I thought it was just average. For such a big restaurant, the space was rather tight and looked nothing like the photo they posted. They sat the two of us in the middle of the restaurant where the table looked like it added there last minute. I was quite disappointed about my seating but didn't want to be bothersome and ask for another table. We already knew what we want but it took the waiter FOREVER to come to our table. He was literally talking care of 4-5 other tables on the floor, but the restaurant didn't look under staff. It was just uneven workload. After we ordered, I heard the table next to us waited an hour for their food (which is just steak, it's not slow-cooked steak, why would it take an hour?). They told the waiters they wanted to pack their steak to-go. I was shocked because unless it's absolutely necessary, I doubt anyone wanna pack their steaks to-go. You definitely want to eat it fresh and off the stove. Luckily our steak didn't take an hour. I got a medium-rare hanger steak, and my friend got a filet mignon. I was rather disappointed because the meat does not melt in our mouth and it was a bit chewy. The outside of the steak was salty, but the instead was tasteless, no strong taste of beef. They gave us sauce on the side and I guess it would make it up for the flavor, but we all know that good steak does not need any sauce. Is it just me or is it overrated? OR MAYBE because of the dineLA menu? I am not sure what the reason is, but I don't think it was just us. I saw another table next to us who didn't finish their steak. On a side note, the crab cake was really good, better than the main course. And the oatmeal cookie was also really good although I wasn't expecting much. However, I came here for steak and not other things. So I was still disappointed about the whole experience.
Overall, I will not come back and not recommend it to anyone who want good steak and good service.
