TREVOR'S AT THE TRACKS - SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA

While visiting San Juan Capistrano for a day trip, I was debating which restaurants to try since all the restaurants there have their own style and signature dishes. In the end, I decided on Trevor's at the Tracks and I am so glad I did! They are situated right next to the train station (literally next to the tracks) and the whole theme was like an old and vintage train station. I loved it! It was a beautiful day and we wanted to sit outside, but unfortunately they told us since they have a lot of have bookings, we have to sit inside. But the interior was great, so sitting inside was fine for us as well.

We decided to get the Ahi Poke Nachos, Steak & Fries and Beer-can Chicken. I loved the Nachos, they were made with wonton chips, tuna and avocados. For an appetizer I thought the portion was very good. The steak and fries was made with a Chimmichurri sauce (my favorite), you can taste the fries were frozen and not so fresh, but the taste was not bad. The steak was cooked well. Our main dish, the beer-can chicken was good. They had a beer sauce on the side for dipping, which gives the chicken a hint of wheat taste. The downside is that the chicken breast was way too dry. I guess that's a common problem to roasted chicken.

Overall, I highly recommend Trevor's at the Tracks. If you are going to San Juan Capistrano for a day trip, no matter lunch or dinner it is a good place to go.

Tips: If you would like to sit in the outdoor area, make sure you make reservation, especially on the weekends! It gets busy starting around 6pm.
