ORIOLE - SEOUL, KOREA

This amazing rooftop cafe is located in Huam-dong. It's not far from Myeongdong where you can take a taxi, or you may take the 402 and it will bring you just a staircase away from the main entrance. It is located right by Namsan, so you have Seoul city view in front of you with N Seoul Tower (or Namsan Tower) as the backdrop. Although the view of N Seoul Tower is not great, you will have two good views from this standpoint.

This is a cafe by day, bar by night kind of place. The first floor serves Italian cuisine, the second floor is a bar and the third floor is the rooftop café and bar. Since I only went there for the cafe, I can't say much about the food at the restaurant or the drinks at the bar. But I dare say the views from this place alone is worth a visit. I visited during the early afternoon so the rooftop was empty, so I had no one to distract my views (and selfies, of course). It was a cloudy morning, then suddenly the clouds cleared up to reveal blue skies. I know it was just my day. This is a good place to hang out with a friend sipping on some icy cold drink while gazing out into the city view (or city lights at night).

The drinks option here are not bad, but I am sure that is not the main reason why anyone would come here. Rooftop cafes/bars are gaining a lot of popular in Seoul, and with the view this city has to offer, I am sure it's here to stay. There is actually a burger joint next door and the smell of the delicious burger is always traveling over. If you arrive too early and Oriole is not serving food yet, you can always go next door and grab a burger.
