One of those touristy places in San Francisco is the Boudin Bakery in Fisherman's Wharf. It was fun just go to there and see the bakers roll the sour dough through the windows of the bakery. The Boudin in Fisherman's Wharf is the biggest with a Boudin museum attached to it. So if you really love bread, this is the place for you.

Inside the bakery there's a section where you can buy bread in all shapes and sizes. There is a bear, a crab, a turtle and even a crocodile! As cute as it sounds, we actually visited to try their famous sour dough bread bowl clam chowder. The line went by very fast although it seems like it's never ending and the food comes out very fast too. I guess the food are mostly pre-made and they just heat it up for you when you order. There was nothing special about the clam chowder bowl nor their sandwiches. It was not bad, but it was nor particularly good either. There were very little soup in the bread bowl to my disappointment, but I understand this is a tourist spot after all.

If you are here just for the experience like me, I think it's ok. But if you are looking for good food and a good deal, they also sell bread bowl clam chowder in the stalls to the left side of Boudin, I think those are actually a better deal.
