CAFE BORA - LOS ANGELES, CA

Cafe Bora is a dessert cafe that came from Korea, Bora actually means purple in Korean. So naturally, all of their desserts has a purple theme. If you think it's taro, sorry, it's actually purple yam, which is just as good. For those of you who knows me, you should know that purple is my favorite color, so I am there to try it out in a heartbeat!

The cafe is located on a roof top of a plaza in Koreatown, LA. I went through the Korean supermarket downstairs to an open area on the top, it was a big change of environment. It was a Saturday afternoon and the cafe was CROWDED. Luckily, there is an outdoor area, so if you cannot find a seat inside, simply just sit outside in the beautiful sunshine.

Judging from the photos I saw on the internet, the menu is the same as the cafe located in Seoul, Korea with the addition of GREEN TEA FLAVORS AND TIRAMISU! What's not to love? There is a promotion going on, if you check in on yelp or facebook, you will get some dried flowers. Of course, the flowers are purple/pink themed! I saw the flower shop downstairs where they get these flowers from, and it actually costs $1 to buy! So it's such a good deal to just check in and it's great for photos!

I was debating between the Bora Ice Cream and Bora Tiramisu, but since it was a hot day I chose ice cream. The price is fair at $4.75 for an ice cream, because not only are you eating ice cream but you are also eating the environment and the look. It tasted strongly of purple yam, so if you are not a fan you can always get the green tea. I love purple yam and I never tasted such ice cream flavor so I was in love! I know that I will be going back some time soon to try the tiramisu as well. However, maybe I will choose a day with less people because it was way too crowded on a weekend afternoon for me the enjoy the environment.
