COMMISSARY - LOS ANGELES, CA

Commissary is located on the roof of the Line hotel (only the roof of 2nd floor though). It has a greenhouse-like interior and is located next to the pool. The vibe is just awesome, it's great to go during the evening when it's still bright outside and then it dims and creates a different atmosphere. Although you are a bit intimate to the table next to you, but I guess that's all the restaurants in DTLA, right?
The food is a little over-priced, but well worth it with the special interior and the fact that it's actually a hotel restaurant. Their alcoholic beverages were delicious and had enough spike to keep you happy for the first half of dinner! For food, we got the Avocado Toast, Scallops 2.0 and Faackitas (Grilled steak). I was expecting bigger scallops for the steep price of $34/dish, but the scallops were small! However, it's still my personal favorite in terms of the taste.
The Avocado Toast was alright, the bread was crispy but the salmon was a bit thin so you don't get that fullness of the salmon. The scallops, like I mentioned is my favorite item, it had an orange sauce and if I remember correctly, had a hint of curry. (Don't take my word for it though.) Their portions were not big for the price, so 3 items for us was just alright, but I totally think we could've easily ordered another dish. Since we didn't want to be fatasses, we just went somewhere else to get... DESSERT haha!
Tip: Valet parking is HELLA expensive even if you get validation from the hotel, but it's impossible to find parking in Koreatown (we went around for 15 minutes). So if you really can't find it, then valet parking is the best way at $12.
