I heard great things about Bestia, and how hard it was to book. I called one week in advance and held on the line for around 5 minutes, then eventually I got through. However, they only have courtyard or bar seats available. If it was a short meal, bar table is ok, but since this was a real meal l prefer a real seat and I opt for the courtyard seat. I am quite glad because I went inside once just to use the restroom, and the bar area was SO CROWDED it was hard to walk! And the courtyard seat was quite and peaceful. Nice!

We ordered 3 things: Roasted Bone Marrow, Smoked Chicken Liver Pate and Slow Roasted Lamb Neck. They were all very high quality, but my favorite would be the Lamb Neck.

Bone Marrow, came with spinach gnocchetti. It was my first time eating a gnocchetti and it was pretty good, Gnocchetti is southern Italy's version of Gnocchi! They will mix the bone marrow with the gnocchetti for you, but we prefer to do it ourselves. I forgot how oily the bone marrow is, so it's definitely better to mix it with the gnocchetti than eating it alone.

Smoked Chicken Liver Pate, served with grilled bread and date oil. It was my first time eating chicken liver PATE! The taste was similar to foie gras pate but not exactly. It was smooth and a perfect match with the bread it was served with! The date oil was very interesting and delicious too, different from the regular olive oil that we'd get. This dish is highly recommended to those who are fans of foie gras pate.

Slow Roasted Lamb Neck, topped with arugula. I really didn't expect the lamb next to be SO BIG! It was impossible for 2 girls to finish, I boxed it home and I think it can be another meal haha. The arugula combination brought out the distinct taste of lamb and the lamb skin was so crispy! That's what you expect from a pork skin maybe, BUT IT WAS LAMB! I am salivating just thinking about it haha

Overall, it was a great experience at Bestia and I would totally go again. But this time I would like to sit inside and enjoy their interior! Which probably means I have to book a month or so ahead!
