MR. POLLO - WEST COVINA, CA

This is a Peruvian food restaurant that is famous for their rotisserie chicken, hence the name Mr. Pollo. The small joint was packed on a weekday and we waited 30 minutes for our food after we ordered! I think a lot of people called for takeaway that's why it took so long.

Their portions are huge! We ordered half chicken with salad and fries and Lomo Saltado (lean beef sauteed with onions). Even though it was only half of the chicken, I couldn't finish and had to pack the rest home. Their leg and thigh was tasty and delicious. The chicken breast was dry, but their homemade chimichurri sauce made up for it! It was so delicious that I took some home along with my leftover chicken. On a side note, I didn't really like the french fries that comes with the chicken, it was too dry, I end up tossing it out.

Their lomo saltado's beef was TOO stiff and chewy. It was a bit tiring to eat as it was too hard. I prefer softer and juicier beef. I will not be getting this dish again.
