Located on the Sunset Strip, Church Key said they have an inventive menu with dim-sum style service. Being a fan of dim sum I was curious to what they were talking about. Turns out they have push carts going around with over-priced finger foods or "tapas". We all just skipped that and ordered our food. One good thing is how spacious the restaurant is. We had a party of 10 and it's hard to find a table for 10 in Hollywood on a Friday night, but Church Key had a super big table in the back to fit all of us. On the other hand, the food is another story.
Grilled Hawaiian Catch of the Day. The catch was ono for the day and the dish is served with coconut rice. I think my favorite part of the dish was the coconut rice... The fish was cooked in thai style herbs on a bed of baby bok choy. For the price of $31 I was expecting something better. Sure the fish was big but the thai sauce wasn't that great and I don't think it matched with the ono at all.

CKFC. I forgot what the first C stand for in the CKFC, but for sure I think this is one of the better dishes at the restaurant. However, the main reason we got this dish is because we were intrigued by the "Compressed Watermelon". The waitress explained to us the watermelon is soaked in kool-aid and frozen. Sounds interesting enough. But when i tasted it, it was nasty! I thought it tasted like medicine. Or maybe I think kool-aid tastes like medicine. I am not sure which one is more true.

Beef & Broccoli. Being a dim sum restaurant of course they would some sort of "Chinese" dish. But of course, it's not the typical beef & broccoli you get at the Chinese restaurant. It's a fancy hanger steak with broccolini. According to my friend, they actually think beef & broccoli takeout taste better hahahaha. I didn't want to laugh, but I just had to.

Angus "Dagwood" Burger. Can't comment since I didn't try it, but according to my friend it was pretty good. It IS hard to ruin a burger though, just saying.
