CAFE AT SHIELDS - INDIO, CA

We were in Joshua Tree area for the weekend and looking for a brunch place 🥞🥓 on yelp. The #1 on Yelp was closed due to power outage, and the #2 was had a super long line, so we ended up at Cafe at Shields and I am so glad we did! This was a hidden gem in Indio! Actually not so hidden because there was a lot of people here haha, but I think mainly for the Dates Garden in the back and the Dates gift shop. The food was delicious and most importantly, the ambiance was so great with a live band performance! And of course their dates were so good, lots of samples at the store too!

I got the BLT sandwich and my friends got pancakes and eggs benedict with hashbrown, we also got some bacon and sausage on the side. I was happy I can choose fruit salad as a side for my BLT since I really wanted something fresh. The food is pretty good, but I think the environment was a plus for the whole dining experience. They have really cool menu options with their specialty such as stuffed dates, dates pancakes, and dates milkshake! Unfortunately since my friends don't like dates, we did not get any of that haha. But I recommend dates lovers to try it out.
