I had some friends visiting from out of town so I tried to make a reservation because we had a big party of 12. But because they needed a credit card for reservation I decided not to since my friends were flying in in the evening and who knows if their flight will be delay. I didn't want to risk it, so we decided to walk in. We ended up waiting around 2 hours in the bar area. At least they served the full menu in the bar area so we ordered a lot of appetizers. Their cheesy bread is bomb! We kept asking for more. I loved how the menu is a fusion of everything.
After 2 hours of wait, we were seated in the dining room, I was shock to find out the roof was actually open and wind was blowing us. It was a cold night and even though they had heaters it was still very chilly. Regardless, we ordered our main course right away since we spent 2 hours in the restaurant already.
List of appetizer in order of preference:
Cavatelli - One of my fave appetizer for sure. I think that it had an Indian flavor like the spices typically used in Indian cuisine (and it kinda looked like bugs haha).
Cappelletti – Can never go wrong with foiegras, but unfortunately there were very little black truffle.
Burrata – Loved it! If you love wet cheese then you will love this burrata dish. It is very rich in flavor and goes very well with the salad.
Shishito Peppers – Classic dish, can never go wrong, we all loved it. (Altho I usually don’t like peppers I ate a lot of it).
Grilled Lamb Belly – I expected more from this dish, but surprisingly it’s very plain. Nothing special.
Hamachi Crudo – It was just ok, nothing to rave about.
Gnocchi – This is one of the mushiest and most soggy gnocchi I’ve every tasted. Do not recommend.
For main dish, we tried (also in order of preference):
Veal Fraser, for two - This is came in a burgundy snails bordelaise sauce. We first ordered it because of the snails but we didn’t realize the snails were already cooked in the sauce. Nevertheless, the is the best dish of the night and I would recommend it to everybody. The sauce is on point and goes along great with the meat!
Day Boat Scallops – We were trying to figure out what was the black chip on top of the scallops but had no luck. It reminded us of shrimp paste, we didn’t really like it. But the scallops itself were very big and tasted good.
Liberty Farms Duck – There were only two pieces of duck meat and there was a fried dried duck on the side. I personally quite like the dried duck but my friends weren’t a fan. I think the portion could’ve been a little bigger that’s why it’s on the bottom of the list. I felt like I didn’t get to taste enough of it, and it was already gone.
